Inter -1 Asian Handicap at 1.63 with Pinnacle (min 1.55) - 2 units

  • Genoa are not out of the woods yet with their C19 crisis, 17 players and 5 members of staff were diagnosed recently
  • Regardless of players returning we can expect a weaker than usual XI to take the field on Saturday. And we also don't know what kind of shape they will be in having been in quarantine.
  • Last time out against a limp Verona attack they looked awful and gave up 1.91xGA in their 0-0
  • Prior to that we saw Napoli put 6 past them while generating 3.11xG
  • Genoa have a poor record against Top 6 teams, they have given up 2.9 goals per game in their last 10 and are W0 D2 L8 in those games
  • Rolando Maran (Genoa) has gone head to head with Conte in Serie A /Coppa Italia and lost every game bar one. That was last season when his Cagliari side fluked a 1-1 draw
  • This game in my opinion couldn't have come at a worse time, the bulk of the squad are returning to first team training but I have serious doubts they'll be up to the challenge so soon
  • Genoa's last four matches against Top 6 opponents looks grim, 6-0 loss to Napoli, 3-0 loss to Inter,  2-1 loss to Napoli, and a 3-1 loss to Juve,

  • Inter lead the league for goals and xG so far but are coming off two disappointing results
  • In the derby they lost 2-1 but a draw probably would have been a fairer result there, Inter missed a lot of good chances late in the game (xG Inter 2.94-2.28 Milan)
  • Against Gladbach mid-week they were excellent but were against unlucky to concede the only two shots on target they allowed (xG Inter 2.35-1.16) - Worth noting Gladbach created next to nothing from open play
  • Inter did lose Hakimi to C19 but with one of the deepest squads in Europe they will be fine. Darmian who has had a positive start to life in Milan should start. Elsewhere the only other notable absentees will be Sanchez and the out of favour Škriniar
  • Expected XI: Samir, Bastoni, De Vrij, D'Ambrosio, Darmian, Vidal, Brozovic, Perisic, Barella, Lautaro, Lukaku
  • Inter in contrast are one of the most reliable teams when taking on bottom 6 teams (Genoa 16th last season) They have won 9 of their last 10 with 2.9 goals scored and only 0.5 conceded per 90
  • Inter do have a congested fixture list ahead of them and they travel to Ukraine mid-week but we must remember that Conte and  the Inter top brass want a Scudetto more than European success. In my opinion I'd expect Conte to rotate the squad more for the Shakhtar game. Ideally here they'll get off to a fast start and then Conte can bring off some of his automatic starters

Final word: It's early days but Inter look even better than last season, particularly in attack. Expect a dominant display as Conte attempts to get Inter back into the mix
